Thinking about installing a walk-in bath? We can help!

At Southend Bathrooms, we have over 13 years of experience in the mobility market, helping customers find the perfect bathing solutions to suit their needs.

We recently completed a project for a customer with very specific requirements, and after a lot of thought and planning, we found the perfect solution. This installation wasn’t straightforward, as we had to carry out structural work to reinforce the walls for grab rails and a bathing seat, but the end result was well worth it.

We fitted an L-shaped bath with 12 luxurious air jets for a spa-like experience, along with a Molly Bather seat, which allows for safe entry while letting the user fully submerge—something many alternatives don’t offer.

The customer is absolutely thrilled, and as you can see from the photos, the transformation is fantastic!

If you or a loved one are considering a mobility-friendly bathing solution, get in touch—we’d love to help.

In the UK, bathroom renovation costs also vary based on the scope of work, the size of the bathroom, materials, and whether you're using a professional or opting for DIY. Here’s a breakdown of the typical costs for a bathroom remodel in 2024:

  1. Basic Remodel:A simple bathroom upgrade, such as replacing fixtures (toilet, sink, shower), re-tiling, or painting, can cost between £2,500 and £5,000.

  2. Mid-Range Remodel:For a more comprehensive remodel, including replacing the bathtub or shower, installing new flooring, countertops, and upgraded fixtures, you can expect to spend between £5,000 and £10,000.

  3. High-End Remodel:If you're opting for luxury finishes, custom cabinetry, and a full redesign (including changing the layout, adding high-end materials like marble, and upgrading plumbing or electrical systems), the cost can range from £10,000 to £20,000 or more.

  4. Additional Considerations:

    • Location: Costs tend to be higher in London and other major cities due to the higher cost of living and labor rates.

    • Size of the Bathroom: Larger bathrooms will generally cost more to renovate.

    • Contractor vs. DIY: Hiring a professional will increase costs due to labor charges, but opting for a DIY project can significantly reduce the price, though it’s important to consider the complexity of the work.

As with any renovation project, it's always advisable to get multiple quotes from contractors to ensure you’re getting a competitive price. Unexpected issues, such as the need to replace old plumbing or electrical systems, can also drive up the cost.
